- Invite your friends and family. The best place to start is with the people you already know (and love?)
- Post regularly. Followers will engage with you more often if you post regularly. This will trigger others who either see their friends engaging with you or stumble upon your posts organically. The more posts you have, the more there is to stumble upon.
- Use real hashtags. Many people like to use funny hashtags that don’t relate to the post. Besides being comical, hashtags are beneficial for people searching for specific content. Use tags that are relevant to your content and audience.
- Be picky with the social sites you post on. The worst thing you can do is spread yourself too thin and poorly manage all of your social pages. Select 1 or 2 sites that fit your needs and focus on those pages. I personally only use Instagram.
- Promote your posts. Sponsoring/boosting your posts is the only way to guarantee people will see your content. This requires a budget and should only be done if you have the budget. Do not spend money you don’t have.
